Based on the survey conducted in Part A, the target consumers are teenagers and adults who are athletes / exercise on a regular basis. According to the CDC, about 92,700 American adults exercise on a regular basis and they would need the benefits of both water and an electrolyte drink.
Summary
Through the research our group did during Part B we got a wider scope of the existing products on the market and exactly what our limitations will be based on existing patents. We also learned about exactly what features we can't use because of the existing patents but it seems like we wont have too many issues since the patented aspects aren't similar to the design we envision. We also established that we are going to focus on athletes as our target consumer.
